Dr. William Sangster is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson Medical College. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, and his fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Ferguson Clinic/Spectrum Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
“In college, I volunteered at a hospital for children with special needs,” Dr. Sangster says. “While there I was able to personally see how much of a role the physicians and nurses played in the lives of the children and that feeling is what drew me toward medicine.”
Dr. Sangster has interests in Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon, and rectal cancer and diverticulitis. He specializes in the use of minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques for the management of the surgical disease.
As a colorectal surgeon, Dr. Sangster strives to provide the highest level of care while treating his patients with the respect and dignity that they deserve. He is board-certified in the General Surgery and board eligible in Colorectal Surgery. He is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
